Android Fitness Apps Kick Your Exercise Plans Into Gear

androidIn today’s technological world, it can be hard to find time to get or stay healthy, but technology doesn’t have to be your enemy.  With the advent of smart phones and the myriad of apps, you can make technology work for you.  You can use them to help you eat smart, work out without burning out, and never get lost on your morning jog or Saturday afternoon run.

Years ago, knowing how many calories were in foods was a matter of guesswork and looking foods up in a rather large book.  Sounds tedious, doesn’t it?  Today, you can use an app and make all that headache go away.  The CalorieCounter app has thousands of foods, including restaurant offerings, programmed into it, and can even do the math for you so you know how much an entire meal is going to affect your fitness goals.  And because, odds are, you take your phone everywhere you go, it’ll always be convenient, unlike those outdated calorie counting books.

The next Android app I like is called FitSynch.  This app really does it all in terms of encouraging you to exercise.  It has over 500 workouts programmed in and 60 fitness plans.  You’ll never have to pay for a personal trainer again because FitSynch will be your trainer instead.

Finally there’s the app called My Tracks which is perfect for anyone who loves to walk, jog, run, or hike.  This app seamlessly utilizes the GPS unit in your phone to track where you are, how fast you are going, and how far you’ve traveled.  You’ll never get lost again, or wonder if you’ve gone far enough to meet your daily or weekly goals.

With smart phone apps, you can really kick your fitness plan into gear.  They’ll be no more complaining that you don’t have the tools because they’ll be right there in your pocket or purse.
